I did some looking online and found a couple of variations of this snack, which I thought was really creative and that I hadn't heard of before (sheltered life, I guess!)

I peeled an apple, cored it with my handy dandy apple corer and then sliced it into rings. On each ring, I spread a thin layer of peanut butter, then put another ring on top to make a sandwich. 

Another tasty topping I heard was to add granola to the top of the peanut butter …

Or, as this creative photograph shows… you could make a peanut butter apple recreation!
