Cheeseburger Pie

In an effort to try and find something my kids would eat, I came across this recipe called: Kid's Cheeseburger Pie. It was a success.
- 1 unbaked 9" deep-dish pie shell
- 1 lb ground beef (lean)
- ¼ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup chopped dill pickles (I actually use less if any)
- 1/3 cup of pickle juice
- 1/3 cup Carnation Evaporated Milk
- 8 oz American cheese, cut into pieces and divided
- mustard & ketchup (optional)
- Preheat oven to 425ºF.
- Cook beef and garlic powder in a large skillet, stirring frequently, until beef is no longer pink. Sprinkly with flour; stir.
- Stir in pickles, pickle juice, evaporated milk and half of the cheese. Spoon into pie shell.
- Bake for 20 minutes; top with remaining cheese. Bake for an additional 5 minutes or until cheese is melted.
- Cool on wire rack for 5 minutes. Serve with mustard and ketchup.
