Dirt Cake

Tote-Em PailsYou might be wondering why this recipe features a picture of Tupperware's Tote-Em pails. I mean, come on - kids toys? In a recipe?
Well, here's the thing. Spring has (more or less) arrived here and my boys are thrilled to finally be able to get back into action in their sandbox! They've been busy digging holes, building castles, constructing roads for their cars & trucks… among the sand tossing and trying to see exactly how much sand CAN stick in your hair….
To celebrate the excitement of the sandbox, I thought a special treat was in order! Pails are often associated with sand and dirt, so why not make a dirt cake with them?
Here's what you need:
1 box of Oreo Cookie Crumbs
1 pkg instant vanilla pudding
2 cups of milk
8oz of cream cheese
1 lg. tub of Cool Whip
Cream the cream cheese and fold in the Cool Whip. Using the QuickShake, blend the instant pudding with milk. In the largest pail, layer cookie crumbs, cream cheese/CoolWhip mixture and pudding three times. Begin and end with cookie crumbs. Chill and serve!
If you want to make it extra dirt-like, add in some gummy worms for a surprise! :)
These pails are great. I have to keep mine hidden or the boys will zoink them for the sandbox, bathtub, toy collecting, etc. Each pail has a shape on the bottom, an animal on the side, is a different colour and stacks neatly into the one bigger than it, making clean up easy. A long time favourite - I'm so happy to see them back in the 2008 summer catalogue!
