Mrs. Field’s Chocolate Chip Cookies

So, my "infamous" chocolate chip cookies are actually from a recipe that I found, I think online, based on the recipes used at the cookie joint - Mrs. Fields. I love these cookies. Soft, chewy … yummy! (Maybe I shouldn't be typing this at 7:30 am… I might be tempted to make some for breakfast! hehe)

Here's the recipe:

  • 1 c. (2sticks) softened butter
  • ½ c. granulated sugar
  • 1½ c. packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2½ tsp. vanilla
  • 2½ c. flour
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1½ 12-oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
  1. Preheat oven to 350ºF.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla.
  3. Sift together flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda.
  4. Combine wet&dry ingredients.
  5. Stir in chocolate chips.
  6. With your fingers, place golf ball sized dough portions about 2" apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  7. Bake for 9-10 mins or until edges are light brown. DO NOT OVERBAKE!
  8. Although they don't seem cooked after 10 mins, they will continue to cook after removed from the oven.
