Pantry Zones - Introduction
By Lisa Marie on Mar 30, 2008 in Handy Tips
I just got the April edition of the Better Homes & Gardens magazine (which my friend Tammy from Home Interiors signed me up for after I ordered something from her!)
The front looks so pretty with the yellow daffodils and boldly exclaims "Spring At Last!" Well, we can hope anyway…
The cover also has hints of an article about "clever kitchen storage" so I flipped through the pages to see what they advise.
Zones.
Amazingly enough, this is a concept I am already more than familiar with, thanks to my training with Tupperware and the Modular Mates containers. But it's nice to see it from a different point of view, too.
The magazine outlines 7 zones for your pantry and a gorgeously laid out model pantry.
1. Impromptu Entertaining
2. Baking Supplies
3. Easy Weeknight Meals
4. General Food Storage
5. Lunch on the Run
6. Quick Breakfasts
7. Tools & Appliances
If you sign up for a free membership on the Better Homes & Gardens website, you can also get some pantry stocking ideas at www.bhg.com/pantry
Too bad I don't have a pantry …. but I can still learn from this and set up great zones in my kitchen! Watch for more on each zone!
